MAKE YOUR FACE GLOW

何藹恩的繪畫和油畫作品以時裝雜誌和美容產品的圖像為創作藍本。透過整合，她試著消解原本圖像和指涉物的象徵關係，來過濾掉原有的信息，故意令畫作帶有混含和模稜兩可的意味。這次展出的作品除了能引發觀眾解讀畫像的好奇心外，同時向觀眾顯示繪畫/油畫的意像，可以用新的型式來表現。

The paintings and drawings of Carol Ho are sourced from the pictures in fashion magazines and on different kinds of beauty products.  She tries to dissolve the symbolic relations to the referents and to filter off the information in the original pictures through integrating the images, to bring forth a sense of ambiguity in her works.  Carol Ho’s works engage spectators in an impossible process of decoding, and they also offer viewers a fresh version of painting imagery.

何藹恩 

香港出生，1998年於加拿大卡加里大學畢業，主修油畫,繪畫及版畫。1999-2001年在英國倫敦皇家美術學院攻讀，獲純美術碩士學位。作品曾在加拿大、英國、日本及德國展出。現香港藝術學院兼職講師，並從事藝術創作。

CAROL OI YAN HO

Carol Ho was born in Hong Kong and emigrated to Canada with her family in 1991. She studied at the University of Calgary, majored in drawing, painting and printmaking, and received her Bachelor degree in Fine Arts in 1999. In 2001, she was awarded an MA degree by the Royal College of Art in London. After graduation, she showed her works in Canada, England, Japan and Germany. Ho now works and lives in Hong Kong.
